Summary and opinion of Magazine
There are many arguments that could say to this point to whether I agree or disagree with the government intervening with my privacy.
In my opinion, i think that it is wrong for us to be 'looked at' as we should all have our own privacy and should be able to make sure that we can maintain/keep this privacy by keeping our information, photos, messages private and not available for the public to access as people would feel uncomfortable with the fact that their messages are being read over. However it is important to acknowledge the fact that there are also many good reasons behind this, as its promoting the safety of individuals by tracking down issues such as terrorism or any illegal activity that may take place on the internet; such as cyber bullying. Also, if children are on sites such as pornography, then the government would be able to stop them,from going on them.
This article talks about how privacy has overtaken peoples lifestyles and talks about the life spheres individuals have to face, such as parents making sure their child is safe online from a young age and therefore doing the same thing even when the child is old enough.
Therefore the government surveillance states that the government intervenes in our privacy to keep individuals safe from things like terror attacks. The article also states how people allow locations to be shared and therefore this invaded their privacy. Also by adding your social networking sights on private or keeping them off, giving viewers a choice on whether to see their pictures, statues, locations which invades their privacy significantly, as people can view what the person has done, where they have been and with whom.

Culture
Culture is widely spoken about throughout the internet and sometimes it can be considered a good thing for cultures as they are explored to wide depths and expresses in a rose-tinted light by which the world can broaden on their horizon on cultures. However, according to Andy Medhurst, negative judgements can be imposed upon minority groups e.g Muslims.
Communication
Communication is also widely spoken through the the internet for example, people now communicate over apps such as whatasapp and social networking sites such as twitter and Facebook. However, in the past communication was widely spoken face to face , but as time advances, we now speak over the internet.

The internet has affected our privacy as for example, we use social networking sites such as instagram where we post images of ourselves or random things and post them online. If our accounts re not private then others can see. Also, case studies e.g brain damage patients, personal information about them has been exposed over the internet for others to study.
Online safety
The internet has effected this as games such as ... allows people of all ages to play the game and in the past ther has been incidents were old people have dressed their characters as young and fake their age and so the naive younger generation are more likely to become close to people of their age and so its not really safe.
